Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width consisting of a disc divided per saltire red and blue a horizontal interlocking silver metal strip crossed vertically with a silver shovel, above a silver scroll inscribed WE WILL CONQUER in red letters.

Symbolism
In the scarlet and white of the Corps of Engineers the functions of the Company are illustrated by the disc superimposed by the interlocking metal strip used by the Engineers to construct landing fields, the shovel being one of the tools most frequently used by such organizations.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 902d Engineer (Headquarters) Company on 21 November 1942.  It was redesignated for the 902d Engineer Company on 30 November 1967.
